It is totally fun to have great front yard especially with some flowers and greenery. You can plant or place the greenery in the planters. If you think a planter can only be created by a carpenter, it is a wrong thought. You can really create your own even without having skills of a carpenter. This article will give the steps of creating simple rustic outdoor planter. The great thing is you don’t have to get a log; just old pieces of wood will do. Don’t forget to prepare a hand saw, nails, a hammer, a measuring tape or a ruler.
Imagine or Draw the Plans
It is suggested to draw the plans to ensure the right shape and sizes of planter. However, it is okay if you only want to imagine the plans. Think of the exact location you will place it, and then measure the sizes of that space.
Measure Each Size
Now, it is your turn to measure the sizes of base part and four sides of the planter. It is better to measure the base first and the sides afterwards. The thickness of your base depends on the piece of wood you have got. For the sides, make sure you adjust the measurements to the base’s length and width.
Hammer the Sides
Next, you need to put the sides together to form a box. Hammer all sides on each end by using some nails. Don’t forget to check if it has been strong enough.
Attach the Base
To finish your rustic outdoor planter, attach the base to the box. Flip the box upside down and hammer all sides to the base. You must make sure the nails are straightly going in and the planter has been strong enough.
Place the Plants or Pots Inside
Lastly, you need the finishing touch, which is placing the plants or pots inside the planter. Put your planter on the space you have prepared.
The beauty of creating rustic outdoor planter is it doesn’t need to be smooth and straight. On the other hand, it shows the originality and aesthetics of the planter.
